FREEDOM CREATIVITY NATURE COMPASSION

Human experience is vast and suffering is unavoidable. However, we can grow from our struggles. Like the lotus flower reaches the light, starting from the muddy depth, and blooms upon reaching the surface; we too can come up for air- feeling fully expressed. At times we find we need support, for life becomes too heavy to walk and figure out alone. I am here to offer a non-judgmental, humanistic, strength based approach to provide the way back to yourself- expressive, joyful and able to experience a life of your making. Together we can support you in creating a life to be excited about, a life worth living, grounded in love.

Welcome.

The environment we grow up in affects our development. And when combined with overwhelming and repeating experiences of neglect, abuse, violence, and/or discrimination, can lead to feelings of isolation, feeling misunderstood, unwanted, and thoughts of wishing things were different, much different. This causes parts of ourselves to become repressed, shut down, and consciously or unconsciously to be deemed unlovable. Symptoms of lacking a sense of belonging, inability to make connections that feel safe and secure, feeling unworthy and undeserving, and feeling unable to trust others begin to shape our identity, personality, and relationships.

Grief is a common symptom of feeling unwelcome, and when ignored, can grow to an all consuming and debilitating existence. Troublesome thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations feed unhealthy practices like sex, substance, and food addictions, cutting people out of our lives, self bashing and defeating thoughts that keep us small, and conflict with others. Loneliness and grief show up as physical symptoms and share the same receptors as pain. Shame and loneliness are literally painful.

Working with your various “parts”, as understood through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective, and addressing how emotions are stored in the body, through somatic psychotherapy, can bring a sense of freedom and liberation. Tending to the parts that have been forgotten, neglected, and cast aside frees up energy and allows for re-connection with Self and others. This work brings peace of mind and body, allowing healing to take place within a safe container, supported by a caring and informed other.

If you have been thinking about relief, and feel ready to explore how to shift the way you see yourself and feel in the world, here we will co-create a brave and safe space, where care, awareness, courage, and compassion will be the main pillars for your transformation; reconnecting with love through self acceptance.  I invite you to reach out to me so we can explore how we can best collaborate toward your journey of embodiment and reintegration, and give you the life you deserve. Freedom and liberation are your basic human rights. I wish this and much more for you.

“For things to reveal themselves to us, we need to be ready to abandon our views about them.
Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.
Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh
